Here's another great Yamaha. This guitar does exactly what a good Yamaha does best: It disproves the many
theories that guitar gurus hold so dear to their hearts. First of all, it looks great, plays great, and best of all,
sounds even better.
It disproves the common misconceptions about guitars that:
1. Nitro finishes are the only finishes that give great sound. Sorry, this guitar is some kind of poly and it sounds as
good or better than most nitro finished guitars.
2. When you spend a lot of money, you get a superior guitar. Sorry, this is an inexpensive guitar that is equal to or
superior to many, many, expensive guitars.
3. Multi-piece backs or tops are inferior for great sound. Sorry, this is multi-piece maple top, multi-pieced back and
yet it sounds unbelievable.
4. You need fancy expensive pickups and fancy pots, capacitors etc... to produce great sound. Sorry, this guitar
sounds great as is; was way ahead of its time 28 years ago.
I guess I could go on, but what's the point? I have guitars that are worth 100 times this guitar and only play as good
or slightly better. If you don't have a lot of money, but want a beautiful guitar that plays and sounds great, this is
your machine.
One more thing, don't get me wrong... I'm some kind of guitar Guru too, and I love all the things we listed and I have
over 300 guitars, many of them some of the finest guitars ever made on this planet. But this guitar shows me how
great, really.... how truly great an inexpensive guitar can be.~!
