I absolutely love this bass... Tokai made some really cool basses back in the day, and every once-in-a-while they decided to adorn a few of them with special features, like they did with this one. If you don't know about the "Jazz Sound" lawsuit basses, let me tell you that they have a really smooth, thick, yet bright, tone. There's little muddiness and the thump these basses can create is massive. It's nice when you can find a vintage bass like this that you don't need to swap out pickups or electronics or anything else... you can enjoy it and leave it all original. The only things that aren't original on this bass are the Fender pickup cover and logo bridge plate. I put them on myself to give the bass the perfect '64 look. The covers were installed professionally; there is no flaking of the paint around the screw holes and the bridge is in pristine condition. IE, the covers are not hiding anything. The neck is straight and the frets are nice and tall on the veneer '64 fretboard. It's a rare beauty in today's market and I hope you like the photos.
