The EX-TRAD series that Fender Japan made in their Custom Shop in limited quantities
is perhaps the most rare of all Japanese Fenders. Much more rare even than the
well-known JV (Japan Vintage) series that spanned the early 1982-1984 production
years. The EX-TRAD stands for Extra Traditional, which is evident in the detail... all
nitrocellulose lacquer finish, Fender USA vintage-style pickups, etc. This tele has some
minor wear on the body, but the frets are still tall and unpitted. It has a very convincing
feel and look for the model year. The tone is balanced, as is the feel.
You won't see another one like it again.
