This Morris is a very nice lawsuit-era clone of one of the finest Martin guitars ever made. I believe Morris to be one of the most under-rated acoustic guitar makers in Japan. Few people outside of Japan have ever heard of Morris, but the company is well-known in Japan for their spot-on replicas of Martin acoustics. There are cheaper models with veneer tops and cheaper craftsmanship, but then there are the higher-end models that are more rare and are adorned with superior craftsmanship and attention to detail. This W-50 model is the entry-level high-end model, the lowest model in the line that has all solid woods. I like this one because is isn't pretentious with inlays, although the solid flamed back is pretty dazzling. It is very well-made and resonates incredibly, as you'd expect a vintage instrument to sound. It projects well and is inspiring to play. The action is low without the buzz and the neck is straight as an arrow. The case is kind of funny... must have been owned by a 80s Japanese rocker and ladies' man ; )
