1987 Fender USA '62 Vintage Reissue Stratocaster, Seafoam Green, OHSC & Case Candy
$1,750.00
This is quite a spectacular Stratocaster... a completely original Fullerton-era strat reissue. Typically, the American-made
1982-1984 classic reissues are known as the "Fullerton" models because they have deeper body routing and more
pronounced curves. However, many 1986 and 1987 reissues made at the Corona factory used parts that were brought
over from the Fullerton factory. This guitar is a perfect example of that. Not only does it have the "Fullerton" body, but it
also sports a rare (but documented) double-finish. If you look at the areas where there are small dings, you can see that
the guitar has a black finish underneath the surf green finish. These guitars age in a really cool way. Of course there are
checks and small dings in the finish, but the neck is straight with little to no fret wear and the pickups sound fantastic.
It would be hard to find any sort of relic or reissue that surpasses this one in terms of tone and playability. It is now 21
years old and vintage in its own right. Surprisingly, it still has all its original case candy, that will be sold with the guitar.
