Finding a well-made early American vintage reissue is seriously like finding a needle in the
proverbial haystack... there are a lot of them out there and many have serious issues that
impede playing, like poor neck/string alignment, neck/body fit, etc. They all look cool, but it
really isn't easy finding a superb player. This is a fine example of one of the great ones. Go
ahead and take a look at Eric Clapton's famous "Blackie" Strat. This guitar is an amazing
reissue of that very guitar. The neck is to die for, and the frets, although worn down from playing,
are all evenly-worn and there are no buzzing fret spots, even with note bending. I reiterate, this
neck is FAST. Sports the cloth-wired pickups, electronics, original 3-way switch. The only thing
that I am aware was changed were the USA gold kluson tuners and the strap buttons. All else
looks very original. I did check the neck date, and although I don't have a photo of it, it is ink-
stamped and hard to read, but looks like Sept. 19, 1988 or maybe 1989. The guitar has its
share of bumps and bruises, but no bad ones, and the finish checking on the neck is totally
incredible. If you saw it in a shop with only vintage 50's strats, you'd never know it wasn't one.
