Finding a well-made early American vintage reissue is seriously like finding a needle in the
proverbial haystack... there are a lot of them out there and many have serious issues that
impede playing, like poor neck/string alignment, neck/body fit, etc. They all look cool, but it
really isn't easy finding a superb player. This is a fine example of one of the great ones, built
by now Master Grade luthier John Cruz. If you look, his name is stamped into the body and on
the hang tag. This guitar is all original, except for a new nut and pro refret; which only enhance
the beautiful voice of this instrument. The new (slightly larger) frets are perfect for playing blues
and the frets are crowned and tapered nicely. The pickups are strong and balanced, and sing
like only these early reissues can. The finish is seafoam green even though some of the photos
make it appear sonic blue. The body is one of the very first produced at the Corona, CA, factory.
