Greco made some of the most authentic replicas of Gibson guitars during their heyday in Japan. Even Tokai,
another well-known company that produced fantastic Gibson replicas from the 1970s through the 1990s, did not
make as many models as Greco did. The Greco team also made a few really rare versions of production guitars,
and this ES-175 replica is a great example. It is essentially an FA-80 model, which is a fabulous ES-175
reproduction, but Greco went the extra mile with this one marked "S" for Special. It designates the special quilted
finish this particular specimen was given. It has been collector-owned since 1990 and kept in pristine condition, and
kept with all of its original documentation and case/key. You don't see many of these floating around, and certainly
even more rarely one this beautiful.
