1990s Yamaha SAS-1500 Super ES-335 Small Type
Sorry, this guitar is Not for Sale
This guitar is Yamaha's answer to the famous Ibanez AM-205, which is a fantastic guitar.  This guitar is basically the
3/4 size version of the ES-335.  I got one a couple of years ago and it's fantastic!  It's one of my favorite guitars, and
also the fav of almost every friend who comes over to play.
Here's the specs:  Weight 6.5 lbs, 2 Alnico 5 split coil pickups, all top flight Yamaha electronics, Antique Violin finish,
matching pickguard, all gold hardware and tuners, Ebony fretboard, Mother of Pearl fretboard markers.
Trying to describe it accuratley I can only come up with one fitting word.  The guitar is simply "Handsome" in every
aspect.  Because of the small size, it's great for sitting on your lap on your favorite couch.  That's my biggest problem
with the ES-335, it's just to big to play comfortably on the couch, and since that's where I do most of my playing, I don't
play one often.  But with this guitar the problem is solved.
Regarding playability and sound.  Well, it's a Yamaha, so it plays perfectly.  The sound is good for anything, rock, jazz,
blues, r&b, simply put, this guitar will do what you want it to.  Regarding performance, my friends with the Ibanez
AM-205 are jealous of the versatitity of this guitar.
It's only available in Japan, so very hard to come by here and when they do show up, they're gone almost instantly.
I know, I got an extra one a year ago, put it on Ebay, and it was gone the same day, with a buy it now.
A great guitar at a great price, the Yamaha SAS 1500.  Designation  S=Super  A=Axe  S= Split - Coil.
