1997 Fender Japan CIJ ST67-EX-Mod (CTS Pots, American 5-Way Switch & Suhr V60 Pickup Set) Includes Original Gig Case & Tools $880.00
|

This guitar is a very unique and special Fender Japan model. The base model is a Fender
ST67-EX, the export version of the famous Jimi Hendrix Monterrey strat. This is a FANSTASTIC
feeling strat, but of course had terrible Japanese pickups and cheap electronics, being an
export model. So, I did some research and spared no expense to make this the ultimate '67.
The original pickups and electronics were replaced with a $250 set of Suhr V60 Vintage pickups
which are extraordinary pickups for maple-neck strats. I also added CTS pots and the USA
5-Way Switch, then strung it with .010s and it just SINGS. The Japanese models are noted for
their craftsmanship & wood while the USA models are known for their great electronics and tone.
I melded the two into one mean Stratocaster. It's got a few tiny bumps and bruises, but the
frets are nice and tall. I removed the extra string tree guide, but it is included with the sale.
