Ornetts is a fairly unknown guitar manufacturer outside of Japan.  Their focus in guitar-making is to take a
vintage classic guitar and give it a "friendlier" musician feel and look.  The headstock isn't Gibson-style, and
Ornetts does not attempt to replicate all of the original Gibson designs.  They do, however, succeed in
making an incredible instrument.  The all-nitro finish is very thin over a rough-grain mahogany and maple -
the idea was to let the wood breathe and let the musician be able to feel the wood grain and contours.  In
doing this, they created a very personal relationship between the guitar player and guitar.  The frets are
smaller, like Fender frets, and the fretboard is Indian rosewood.  The fit, finish, craftsmanship and tone are
similar to a Gibson Les Paul, but the tone is all its own, powerful, sustaining, resonant.
